Content Moderation Standard

This standard explains what HuntBook SA checks before user content is shown to another person. It applies to farm, accommodation and hide photographs, profile pictures, hunter reviews, and farmers' replies to reviews.

1. The publication rule

New or edited covered content is visible to its author and HuntBook SA administrators while it is checked. It is not shown to other users until an administrator approves it. If an approved reply is edited, the previous approved reply stays visible while the new version is checked.

We aim to decide submissions within 24 hours. This is a service target, not a guarantee.

2. Reviews and replies

A negative opinion is not abuse. An honest one-star review may be highly critical and still be published. We assess how the content is expressed and whether it is relevant, not whether it is favourable to HuntBook SA or a farm.

We reject or remove a review or reply only where it contains one or more of the following:

• abusive, threatening, hateful or discriminatory language;
• sexual content;
• graphic violence unrelated to a lawful hunt;
• another person's private or identifying information;
• spam, advertising or content unrelated to the farm or review;
• a claim of criminal conduct stated as fact where publishing it would create

an unacceptable legal risk; or

• content that is unlawful to possess, host or distribute.

Disagreement, a low rating, poor service, a disputed account of an experience, or embarrassment to a farm is not by itself a reason to reject a review.

3. Photographs

We reject photographs containing sexual content, unlawful or gratuitous violence, another person's private information, spam, material unrelated to the listing, or content the uploader has no apparent right to publish. Lawful hunt and trophy photographs are not rejected merely because they show a hunted animal.

4. Decisions and challenges

The author is shown the reason for a rejection. A rejected item remains visible to its author but is not published. To challenge a decision, contact support email address — to be confirmed and identify the item and the reason you believe the decision was wrong. A different administrator should review the challenge where practical.

5. Suspected illegal content

Content reasonably suspected to be illegal is blocked from all ordinary media routes and copied to restricted evidence storage. It is not handled through the ordinary deletion process. HuntBook SA records the incident and follows its legal reporting and preservation procedure. Access is limited to authorised personnel and, where appropriate, law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.

6. Scope and changes

This standard does not promise that every approved statement is true, and approval is not an endorsement. We may remove approved content later if new information shows that it breaks this standard or the Terms of Service.

We may update this standard as risks and legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy where they affect users' rights.
